The leaves have fallen, the skies have been beautifully lit with Diwali and Guy Fawkes. It’s now time for Christmas. Whilst the country still faces the COVID-19 second lockdown we all plan and hope for the perfect Christmas. The Urban Guj team has created this amazing post for the coolest vegan and plant-based food places to visit once the lockdown is lifted.
In our previous post, we mentioned that Urban Guj is aiming to become a complete vegan café by the end of 2020. We’re still on our way to achieve this as our goal for 2020.
With expectations and hope that the lockdown eases on the 2nd of December 2020, there are a tonne of places to visit with vegan food this Christmas. We won’t be listing them all, but the top 10 that come to our minds and are still around post-lockdown. We will integrate with a few different cuisines to consider as well.
1. Urban Guj – Vegetarian & Vegan Street Food
Urban Guj is a vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurant in South London, located in Thornton Heath CR7. With a pretty generous menu size, Urban Guj puts a spin on the traditional vegetarian/vegan Indian food.
Everyone knows that with Indian food, it’s all about the spices that are used within the cooking. The development team at Urban Guj has explored different cities. Along this journey from London to New York, Thailand, India, Dubai, Kenya and South Africa, we’ve innovated the traditional dishes you would expect.

2. OmNom – Enlightened Eating
OmNom is a new plant-based restaurant that opened up in Islington earlier this year. Their space facilitates a phenomenal wellness studio where they partner a great work out with great food.
British author, former monk and purpose coach Jay Shetty and his wife Radhi Devlukia-Shetty have also visited this brilliant restaurant too.
3. En root – Plant-based Restaurant
En Root – Plant-based restaurant in Clapham/Brixton is an Indian place that has taken the traditional concept of Thalis to an innovated degree. With a tonne of nutritional goodness and their house Raja Bonnet Sauce, En root is an extremely popular place to eat at.
They also have an awesome yellow food truck that moves around quite a lot. Keep up to date with their Instagram and you might even be able to catch a quick tasty wrap from them.
4. Wild Food Café
The Wild Food Cafe is based right next to Islington Townhall. It is a wonderful place to be, with their delicate soft-coloured setting to their delicious food.
The Wild Food Café serves a beautiful brunch as well as dinner, you could spend the whole day there! Also, for all things organic, they have a pretty cool online store. Customers can buy delicious berries, ground ingredients and pastes.
5. Pho – Fresh & Healthy Vietnamese Street Food
Pho has a delicious vegan line at their Vietnamese Street Food restaurants. Get ready for Christmas this year with their superpower noodles soups and fresh and healthy street food dishes.
